The training took 5 days where participants were introduced to basics of HIV infection, care and treatment. The topics covered in adherence included introduction to adherence, importance of adherence, who needs adherence counselling, factors influencing adherence, enhanced adherence counselling, forms of adherence and non-adherence, consequences of non-adherence, promoting adherence, adherence preparation, monitoring and support, and adherence key messages among other topics.
The overall course objective was to produce and develop professional adherence Counsellors in HAART in our Health facilities.
